first_imgDOI / Clifton FenechDOI / Clifton Fenech A training project about the principles of good governance, transparency and accountability for all those involved in the local governance sector has been launched.The project was launched by Parliamentary Secretary for Local Government Silvio Parnis and Parliamentary Secretary for European Funds and Social Dialogue Aaron Farrugia.The project is co-financed by the Norwegian Funding Mechanism Regime. The budget is €200,000. The first training session for the executive secretaries and the local councils administrative staff has already taken place.DOI / Clifton FenechParnis explained that the aim of this project is to improve the skills of all those involved in the local governance sector so that they would be able to offer a better service to the communities. Activities will include team building activities, study visits opportunities in Norway and internships with several institutions in Malta.DOI / Clifton FenechFarrugia said: “Our country is currently in the process of implementing new reforms and measures, including the Venice Commission recommendations.
