first_imgNEW YORK — The Brooklyn Nets plan to sign forward Thomas Robinson once he clears waivers, a person with knowledge of the situation said.Robinson was waived Feb. 22 by the Denver Nuggets, who had acquired him from Portland on Thursday at the trade deadline.The former No. 5 overall pick would likely sign Feb. 25 if no team claims him, the person told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because no moves can become official until after the waiver process is completed.Robinson wrote on Twitter on Feb. 23: “All thanks to GOD ! Thank you Brooklyn.”The 6-foot-9 Robinson was sent to Denver in the deal that brought Arron Afflalo to Portland.
