Share Facebook Twitter Google + LinkedIn Pinterest The Map the Meal Gap 2015 report, released by Feeding America, reveals that food insecurity remains high throughout Ohio. The state’s 16.9% food insecurity rate is higher than the national rate (15.8%) and higher than all other Midwestern states except Missouri (17%). The report also found that about one in four children in Ohio (24.2%) live in food insecure households.“We may be six years out from the end of the Great Recession, but the economy has not recovered for everyone,” said Lisa Hamler-Fugitt, executive director of the Ohio Association of Foodbanks. “More than one in six Ohioans still struggle just to afford enough food for themselves and their families, and they are forced to make tough choices every day to cope.”A report released last week by the Food Research and Action Center called How Hungry is America? found that more than one in six Ohioans (18.1 percent) answered yes to the question, “Have there been times in the past 12 months when you did not have enough money to buy food that you or your family needed?” This finding ranked Ohio 19th in the country for worst food hardship rates in 2014. Among Midwestern states, only Michigan ranked higher (14th).“When families can’t afford adequate, nutritious food, they turn to federal nutrition programs for a woefully inadequate safety net,” said Hamler-Fugitt. “Unfortunately, since October 2013, our most vulnerable households have lost more than 258 million meals, or $357 million in federal food stamp benefits, from changes and reductions to the food stamp program. These folks have nowhere else to turn, so they are turning to our emergency food network in record numbers.”“We served more than 2 million different Ohioans last year,” said Hamler-Fugitt. “Hunger is not an isolated issue, and it has serious consequences for all of us. An economy cannot recover when one in six members is limited by a need to secure food. We must acknowledge that hunger is unacceptable, especially in our agriculturally strong state.”The Ohio House of Representatives is expected to release substitute H.B. 64 in mid April, which outlines its framework for the 2016-17 state biennial budget. The Ohio Association of Foodbanks is seeking an amendment for an additional $5.5 million per year for the Ohio Food Program and Agricultural Clearance Program to respond to the 40% increase in demand for foodbank services since 2010.

Tim farms 1000 acres with the help of my son-in-law, Randy. They grow corn, soybeans, and wheat and have 200 head of beef cattle. Hay also keeps them busy as they bale 100 acres of alfalfa, and 3,000 acres of straw that they market year round. Dale had the chance to visit with Recker before lunch.

In the following post we’ll take a look at how to use LUTs in Premiere Pro.Using LUTs in Premiere ProStep 1: Apply the Lumetri Color EffectFind the Lumetri Color Effect in the effects and preset browser. Apply it to your footage or adjustment layer. Premiere Pro uses two terms for LUTs: Input LUT and Look. Typically an Input LUT will be applied to flat log footage in order for it to display with the correct colors.Looks: A Look is a LUT designed to change the color style of a clip. For example, if you wanted to give your footage a ‘Blockbuster’ look, you might apply an orange and teal Look/LUT.
If you measure your results by activity alone, these salespeople are doing well—especially compared to their peers who are doing far less in a day.Sales managers in the past measured activity as if it were the only variable, mostly because it was the only thing they had direct control over. They could literally insist that their salespeople do more work. In many cases, this resulted in greater sales, because increased activity is always the right answer when too little activity is being taken. The problem with managing only activity is that it absolves you, the manager, of your responsibility for improving the salesperson’s performance.Outcomes > ActivityAll the activity a salesperson takes needs to generate outcomes. The outcomes are what matter, and focusing on activity alone doesn’t speak to the salesperson’s effectiveness, nor does it speak to your effectiveness as their leader, manager, coach, and trainer. If activity alone was enough to produce better sales results, then your role would be easy. The truth is, selling is more difficult now, and producing greater results requires more effort on your part. There is a certain segment of every population of worker that isn’t working hard enough to produce the results they need. There is an equally large population—maybe larger than those who lack hustle—that is taking the right amount of activity and not producing the outcomes because they need to improve their approach. More activity may produce a modest improvement in their results, but it won’t come close to the improvement possible by increasing their effectiveness.Outcomes are greater than activity. The more effective your individual salespeople are, the more outcomes they can generate with very same activity.Your Activity and Your EffectivenessIf you are going to look at a salesperson’s activity and their effectiveness in obtaining the outcomes they need, you also need to be honest enough to look at your own activity and your own effectiveness. You need to determine whether you are spending the time coaching and developing them to better generate the outcomes they need, and you need to measure yourself on the outcome of creating the salespeople your clients need from you and from your company. If you believe that your challenge in producing results is your salespeople, you are always going to have trouble producing the results you need. When you believe that other people are your problem, that belief is the root of your problems. Only your beliefs—and your activity—can change this. Essential Reading!
